Clinical Supervisor – Mental Health Services for Adult Outpatient Program
Hours: 40 hours per week during the operation hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. This position is shared between Areta Crowell Center (Downtown San Diego) and Heartland Center (El Cajon, CA).
Pay Rate: $58.20 to $60.00 per hour
Licensure: Licensed in CA to practice as a LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Psychologist
Program Overview:
Located in San Diego, CA, the Douglas Young Wellness and Recovery Center is an adult outpatient program which provides a variety of intervention services to individuals in crisis. We serve individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. This program is located in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego County.
Our services include initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, ongoing medication support services, limited individual and group counseling, supported housing, care coordination, case management, and linking clients with additional community-based supports.
Typical Duties of the Clinical Supervisor
- Provides individual and group supervision for clinical staff, interns and practicum students from various local college programs
- Follows Professional Board requirements and educational institution contracts and requirements
- Participates in utilization management
- Reviews and co-sign clinical records
- Is available for on-call clinical consultation
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Licensed in CA to practice as a LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Psychologist. License must be kept current during the entire period of engagement.
- Eligible to provide clinical supervision
- At least 2 years of experience working with the severe and persistent mentally ill population and with adults/older adults is required; experience with co-occurring disorders also strongly preferred
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and knowledge of various theoretical orientations preferred (i.e. psychodynamic)
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
- Able to pass criminal/background clearance
